In 2019, in the Victoria Census Metropolitan Area (CMA), 15% of children were living in poverty. That’s 9,290 kids!
Children in lone- parent families in this region have a poverty rate that is three times higher than the overall regional child poverty rate. Their poverty rate (44%) is more than six times higher than the rate for children in couple-parent families at 7%.
