Breakfast2Music is a passionate supporter of music education at all levels!
On Saturday, May 15th, over 1,400 local parents, teachers and supporters lined a 5km stretch of one of Victoria’s busiest streets to protest deep cuts or elimination of music programs in the 2021/22 SD61 budget. This includes proposed cuts to middle school band, strings and choir and elementary strings, ukulele and fine arts from all district schools, as well as reading recovery programs and educational assistants, among others. As a result of this community action, the proposed decision date of May 17th was postponed until further information is gathered until June.
